North of Iraq

I received the below photos by email, they are of the north of Iraq, a spot on earth that by some historians is considered the outreach to what believed to be the Garden of Eden

Hi Branwen,
It is gorgeous. I have been there many times when I was a kid, and some places are just stunning.

I am glad you liked them

We both learn from each other, your Irish pub post was indeed an eye opener to me :)

Would it kill you to call it Kurdistan? Yes, it is Iraq, but why denigrate the region and its inhabitants by referring to it as 'The North of Iraq'. When I go to Scotland here in the UK I do not say, "I am going to the north of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland". Or are you simply another Baathist?
